DAWN SCRAMBLE AT BIGGIN HILL
by Robert Taylor

Bob Stanford-Tuck had been a professional fighter pilot since joining the RAF in 1935. He always demonstrated above average skills in the air, and was graded 'exceptional' at almost every stage of his training. He was in action during the early part of the war and it was not particular surprise to Bob when he shot down no less than 3 enemy aircraft on his first day in combat. He was also a very determined fighter pilot and with these qualities soon became outstanding. First flying Spitfires with 92 Squadron, and then taking command of 257 Squadron during the Battle of Britain, his tally of success in the air was growing. He took over the famous Biggin Hill Wing in late 1941 which he led with great verve and characteristic success. His war ended when he was shot down by ground fire over France in 1942 by which time he had 29 victories to his credit. Robert's outstanding Print DAWN SCRAMBLE AT BIGGIN HILL shows Bob Stanford-Tuck leading his Spitfires in a dramatic takeoff sequence from that famous air field Biggin Hill. Only 850 in the edition, it is now considered a very rare print. It is signed by Bob Stanford-Tuck and Robert Taylor and has a Certificate of Authenticity.
