Pete Brothers' Hurricane is the main subject for this painting, seen during a specific air battle on 15 September 1940. Pete flew Hurricanes with 32 Squadron during the French, Belgian and Dunkirk campaigns and during the battle of Britain. He then joined Bob Stanford-Tuck as a Flight Commander seeing out the rest of the Battle in 257 Squadron, again flying Hurricanes. In this portrayal of a perfect attack, the scene is set as German bombers swarm across London, in the forground a Heinkel 111 has fallen victim to the Hurricane's guns, one of eighty German aircraft lost on this particular day. Released in 1990 as part of the Battle of Britain Trilogy, this print carries the original signatures of Pete Brothers, Frank Caery, Geoffrey Page and Peter Townsend.
